K. Paige Johnson, MD Wins Golden Apple Award for Overall Outstanding Clerkship Director

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) has announced that K. Paige Johnson, MD, has been named the winner of the prestigious Golden Apple Award for Overall Outstanding Clerkship Director at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine (UTGSM). Dr. Johnson was selected for this honor by the students, which makes this recognition even more special.

Dr. Johnson, who was recently named Interim Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education at UTGSM, has been recognized for her hard work and dedication to her students. Her impact on their lives is truly appreciated and acknowledged by this esteemed award.

"I work alongside such amazing educators here at the UTGSM that it naturally raises the bar and challenges me to bring my best to our students. I had to read the email twice to believe it. To be recognized by the medical students with a Golden Apple Award is truly an honor," said Dr. Johnson.

The Golden Apple Awards are presented annually to recognize outstanding faculty across the entire UTHSC system. The awards are nominated and voted upon by the students, making them a highly respected and coveted recognition of excellence. Dr. Johnson is one of eighteen winners of the Golden Apple Awards this year.

"This well-deserved recognition is the source of significant campus pride as well as immense gratitude that Dr. Johnson has accepted the role of undergraduate medical education leadership on our campus," said UTGSM Interim Dean Craft.

Dr. Johnson will be presented with her award at the College of Medicine's annual Caduceus Ball on Saturday, March 18th at 6pm at The Columns in Memphis, TN. Congratulations to Dr. Johnson for this well-deserved honor, and for her contributions to the medical education field.
